Sony has announced their take on VR headset technology at the 2014 Game Developers Conference (GDC). Code named Project Morpheus, the device is sporting some pretty higher end specs with a 1080P display with 90+ field of view, 1000Hz rotation detection, and a little under 10 ft of working space in full 360 degrees. Sony’s Shuhei Yoshia has also said the device will be ‘affordable’. With all these great specs comes one down side for those of us who sit further than 8-10 ft away from ours TV’s. The current prototype will be wired though Shuhei Yoshia has said that Sony will ‘investigate other solutions’. No release date or price was given by Sony during the reveal. Project Morpheus will be playable tomorrow at GDC for those lucky enough to be attending.
