Uncharted 4’s Game Director Leaves Naughty Dog

by Doomy on

IGN reports that Justin Richmond, who was working as Game Director on the next installment of the Uncharted series, has recently left Naughty Dog.

Richmond gave the following statement to IGN, “I love the company and the people and know that they will continue to create awesome games going forward. On a happier note, after careful consideration and exploration I have joined Riot Games. There is some really innovative stuff going on here that I can’t wait to be a part of.”

This is the second major player to leave the Uncharted team in the past month. The first being Uncharted writer and creative director, Amy Hennig, who’s last day at Naughty Dog was March 3, 2014. Many speculated then that Hennig was “forced out” by The Last of Us’ Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley so that they could then take control over Uncharted 4 development.

As a huge fan of the Uncharted series, I can’t help but worry just a little about the future of the series. Then again, maybe the new blood is something the series needed to expand it’s story telling and development.
