I’m away for a week on vacation and Blanco tries to take over the show. Can you believe that guy? At least he and TitanThumper could have done a better job, sheesh. In any event, this week Blanco and I talk about the latest news and I talk about my retro gaming / Raspberry Pi project – PiStation. Think of a Playstation 1, with a screen under the CD ROM tray, speakers, working Playstation controllers, and a Raspberry Pi for the brains running the latest RetroPie emulators and you’ll get a good picture of what the project is.
PiStation Progress: it's alive! Everything is in and working… for the most part. There's an under voltage issue I have to track down. My multimeter reads 4.8v from the screen but the Pi has a solid red LED so this might just be a warning and not so serious. I'd be more concerned if the LED was flickering and my multimeter read below 4.6v. Obviously, there's a lot of stuff plugged I to the pi so I might have to try to fit a powered USB hub under the hood. Also, hard to tell from this video but my Adafruit TFP401 HDMI decoder board seems to be failing on some colors causing banding. I've already swapped out 3 fcp cables and powered the device separately to rule out those being the cause. Another video to come shortly.
